Attitude of Gratitude

An ‘attitude of gratitude’  seems to be the mantra of the 2020 Masters Tournament commentators. Fans  are so happy to have the Masters on this year- albeit in November rather than April. It is a motto that more of us need. I would like to apply this positive attitude and acknowledgement to caregivers as this is National Family Caregivers Month. More than ever as this pandemic overshadows absolutely everything and….

Pick your ‘3 C’s’

I  first introduced my 3’C’s in a blog at @allaboutestates   which addressed living options and ways to consider what care settings. Some of you may recall that my 3 C’s are: Care, Cost, Choice. The First of the Firsts

Everything is different since Covid began and the activities we used to take for granted are now being sorely missed. Family celebrations are so important and there were many that could not be celebrated together. This past Thanksgiving’s meal, for example, was enjoyed as a take out dinner instead of making a turkey for 4 when it is usually at least 14 of us around the dining room table. Covid….

National Seniors Day

National Seniors Day was celebrated on October 1, 2020.  I am not sure ‘celebrated’ is the right word.  Most of us don’t feel like celebrating these days and should we be so inclined- we are significantly restricted.  My wonderful client turned 101 in September and the only celebrants was the client, her caregiver, Ziggy and myself.  Certainly quite different than last year’s celebration. We can  still ‘celebrate’ in small and….
